How To Start A Blog

Today, you will learn how to start a WordPress blog and how easy it is to make your own blog. Blogging is what changed my life and gave me the chance to make thousands of dollars a month by doing something I love. Also, it only costs a few dollars a month to start a blog that makes money. I personally received discounted rates with Bluehost so that all of you can start a blog for less money. Through my link, you will also get a free blog name. But move quickly, because I’m not sure how long these low prices will last!

I’m an affiliate partner with Bluehost, which means that if you sign up through my link, I’ll get a small payment. This won’t cost you anything extra, and if you use my link, you’ll get a great rate and a free domain name. I’ve been with Bluehost for 10+ years and can’t recommend their simplicity and professionalism enough.

If you want to start a WordPress blog on the cheap, Bluehost may be the right choice for your hosting needs. Bluehost is a good web host, and I’ve had a good time working with them.

One of the best things I’ve ever done is blog. I have made more than $100,000 from services tied to my blog. I made over $30,000 in one year from writing.

I can work from home, go anywhere I want, change my plan whenever I want, and more. I love my life so much and can’t believe how much it has changed in just a few years.

Anyone can make money with a blog, and it didn’t take me long to make back the money I spent on blog hosting. Paying for blog hosting is a good idea, and I’m sure you’ll be able to get your money back fast.

This year, Bluehost is one of the best web hosting services, and you can start your own blog with them for as little as $2.75 a month (but only if you use my link). Also, if you use my link to sign up, you’ll get your domain for free if you buy a hosting plan for 12 months or more (a $15 value). I really think you should sign up for Bluehost’s 12-month hosting plan. It’s cheap, and if you sign up for at least a year, you can save a lot of money.

You might be thinking, “Well, I can start on Blogger for a little less money and learn how to make a blog that way. Please DO NOT do this… This is a bad idea. There are so many reasons why a Blogger/Blogspot blog is a bad idea and why you should instead set up a WordPress blog on Bluehost.

If you want to make money from your blog, either by working or turning it into a business, you MUST pay for hosting, like through Bluehost. Bluehost is also very cheap, and you get a free name when you use them. (for the first year). With a blog on Bluehost, you can run your own ads, partner links, direct advertising, etc. It is hard to make money on Blogger or any other free blogging site, and many people never do. Most marketers and companies avoid Blogger websites because they don’t see them as professional as self-hosted WordPress blogs. This is another big reason to use Bluehost.

Also, if you look at my old income reports, you can see that I didn’t start making a lot of money from blogging until I switched to WordPress. That’s a lot of proof that self-hosting on WordPress is the best way to go.

How to start a WordPress blog on Bluehost

1. Get a domain name registration.

If you want to buy a domain name and set up a blog, you may do so by clicking here and then following the simple instructions that follow.

In order to get started with a WordPress blog on Bluehost, you must first decide on a domain name. I recommend giving this a lot of thinking because it’s not easy.

I have no idea where the name for my blog originated from. It’s a lengthy one, and there are times when I wish I hadn’t done it. It’s annoying when folks who don’t know about my site ask me to spell the name and then ask if I mean “cents” or “sense!”

Getting a domain name is a breeze when you use Bluehost to do it all for you. If you do this and purchase a year’s worth of site hosting from Bluehost, you’ll get your domain name for free. Due to the significant savings you will realize by signing up for a full year of hosting, it is highly recommended that you do so. The free domain is a nice bonus, but the monthly savings and longer contract period are what really make this a great deal. If you want the free domain, you can receive it and your hosting at the same time by proceeding to the following step.

2. Buy hosting for your blog.

Bluehost makes it simple to set up a WordPress blog. Let’s start with the downsides of blogging:

  • Choosing the “Basic” plan is all you need to get started blogging at the lowest possible cost. Through my referral link, you can get a 12-month subscription for the low, low price of $2.75 per month (billed in full at the time of signing up). Sign up for the 12-month plan if you’re not sure whether or not you’ll enjoy blogging; it’s a wonderful deal. Buying a yearly package for 12 months will only cost you $33, which is a steal. When you sign up for a year or more, not only do you save money, but you also keep the free domain name
  • Don’t waste your money on the more expensive Plus or Business Pro plans when the Basic plan will do for now.
  • There’s no point in prepaying for services you won’t use, when you can switch to a different plan whenever you choose (and pay the difference).
  • Domain Privacy Protection is another service you may wish to invest in for your blog, and it only costs $0.99 per month. Your personal details will be protected in this way.
  • If you don’t plan on using any of the aforementioned features, you can safely deselect any of the optional add-ons that Bluehost offers.
  • If you sign up for a blog hosting plan for a year or more using my referral link, I’ll cover the cost of your domain name.

I’ll go through some of the main reasons why you need to commit to a hosting package for at least a year. The effectiveness decreases on a month-to-month basis, therefore I recommend committing to at least a year. A free domain name, discounted rates, and the elimination of monthly website renewals are just some of the benefits of signing up for a full year. If you pay on a month-to-month basis, for instance, and your hosting isn’t renewed or your credit card expires, your website goes down and you lose business (visitors/traffic). Monthly payments are significantly greater than the one-time payment option. Your annual rate will decrease as your commitment length increases.

You may get a terrific deal on blog hosting for under fifty dollars a year. If you sign up for a yearly plan, it will only cost you $33 total.

When you’re ready to launch your blog, use the information below to get web hosting.

  1. Click the “Get Started Now” button on Bluehost’s homepage.
  2. To learn more about a specific plan, just click on its link.
  3. If you already have a domain name registered, please enter it here.
  4. Put in your name, address, and credit card number.
  5. A password prompt will appear shortly. Please ensure its safety, as this is crucial data.

Please contact me at info@minedit.com if you run into any issues. I know an awesome person at Bluehost who can help you out with anything!

 3. Connect your domain and your hosting.

If you’re going to buy your domain through Bluehost, you can skip this phase (phase 3).

You must link your domain to your hosting account after purchasing it from Go Daddy. If you want to change your domain’s nameservers, Go Daddy has a comprehensive help page for doing so. Here’s a little taste:

When you register a domain with us, we park it on our nameservers so that a holding page appears when people type in your domain. Once you’ve settled on a web host, you can delete the parked page and activate your domain name by updating its nameservers.

Hosting, Off-site DNS, CashParking®, and Quick Content are all available even if you registered your domain name with a different company. Viewing your nameservers in your account with us is a prerequisite before setting them with your domain name registrar.

If you’ve registered a domain with Go Daddy and have your website hosted by Bluehost, here’s how to switch their DNS nameservers:

  1. Access the GoDaddy.com Administrator Panel.
  2. From the Domain Names menu or the Manage Your Account selection, choose Manage Domains.
  3. To make changes to a specific domain, select the boxes next to it and then click Set Name Servers.
  4. On the right side of the page, under the blue Name Servers heading, enter the new details for your name servers and then click Save Changes. The correct format for your DNS entries is as follows: ns1.bluehost.com; ns2.bluehost.com.

After acquiring a domain name (through a service like GoDaddy), you’ll need to add it as an addon domain to your Bluehost web hosting account. When entered into your Bluehost web hosting account, navigate to “Domains,” and then click “assign.” If you do what we say, it’ll be a breeze.

4. Install WordPress on Bluehost.

Okay, I think this is the next logical step that everyone has been anticipating. Read on if you’re interested in learning how to create a WordPress blog on Bluehost.

This is the easy part. Creating a WordPress blog is a breeze with Bluehost, and it’s completely free.

  • Bluehost walks you through the steps of creating a blog from the moment you create your password.

  • Never forget that there are plenty of free ones too!
  • Simply hit the “Construct” button.
  • Select “Business” or “Personal” on the following screen, depending on your preference. You may also select “I don’t need help” if you like.
