In Minecraft, you must wear a helmet enchanted with the “Respiration” enchantment to breathe underwater. This increases the amount of time the player can stay underwater before having to surface for breath. Some potions, such as the water breathing potion, can also be used to temporarily allow the player to breathe underwater.
